The Stirred Knot Shaken Experience

Stirred Knot Shaken is more than a business—it's a culmination of my career, family, and passion for entertaining. When my youngest son Niklas recently stepped away from baseball at Green Level High School, it opened the door for me to fully pursue my love for hospitality, and Stirred Knot Shaken was born.

The name itself carries a special story: inspired by a 1960s Beefeater Gin ad in the New York Times, featuring my father. He wasn't the original model—but when the talent didn’t show, the creative director put my dad in a tux and in front of the camera. The result? A classic “stirred, not shaken” martini ad that perfectly captured the spirit of refinement and spontaneity. That story lives on in our brand.

We chose “Knot” to reflect both our commitment to elevating wedding experiences and our goal to “tie together” thoughtful hospitality, timeless style, and a sense of occasion for your guests.

As the second most tenured bartender on the Angus Barn staff—13 years and counting—I've had the privilege of refining my craft behind one of the most iconic bars in North Carolina. While I’ve mastered the technical aspects of mixology, it’s the art of creating memorable experiences that truly drives me.

At Angus Barn, I learned that the guest experience is everything. Professionalism, attention to detail, showmanship, and pride in your work—these are the values that shaped me, and they’re the foundation of everything I bring to Stirred Knot Shaken.

From meticulously crafted cocktails to the subtle but powerful moments that leave a lasting impression, I believe that bartending is about far more than pouring drinks—it's about delivering an experience that elevates the occasion.

Who I am today—as a professional, a host, and a business owner—is directly tied to the lessons I’ve learned over more than a decade behind the Angus Barn bar. Stirred Knot Shaken is the next chapter in that story, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it.
